What to know about Thessaloniki Concert Hall

Thessaloniki Concert Hall is a two-building complex on the Nea Paralia waterfront, combining performance spaces with facilities for music and conferences.

The complex was inaugurated in 2000 and consists of the M1 and M2 buildings. Its construction occupied 18,000 square metres of land donated by the Greek state and was financed with national funds and European Union funds from the 2nd Community Support Framework. Japanese architect Arata Isozaki designed M2.

The programme spans concerts, ballet, theatre, opera, cultural and art exhibitions, and conferences. M1’s Friends of Music Hall has a capacity of 1,464. In M2, the Emilios Riadis Hall seats 500 and the Maurice Saltiel Hall seats 300. M2 also houses a Music Library and a Museum of Musical Instruments.
